brushupto1/2inchindiameterwith
weedblade,andupto2incheswith
brushblade.Donotletbladecontact
materialitcannotcutsuchasstumps,
rocks,fences,metal,etc.,orclusters
ofhard,woodybrushwithadiameter
greaterthanthatrecommended.
• Useasharpblade.Adullbladeis
morelikelytosnagandthrust.
• Outonlyatfullthrottle.Thebladewill
havemaximumcuttingpowerandis
lesslikelytobindorstall.
• "Feed"thebladedeliberatelyandnot
toorapidly.Thebladecanthrust
awayifitisfedtoorapidly.
• Cutonlyfromyourrighttoyourleft.

• Usetheshoulderstrapandkeepa
firmgripontheunitwithbothhands.
Aproperlyadjustedshoulderstrap
willsupporttheweightoftheunit,
freeingyourarmsandhandstocon-
trolandguidethecuttingmotion.
• Keepfeetcomfortablyspreadapart
andbracedforapossiblesudden,
rapidthrustofunit.Donotoverreach.
Keepfirmfootingandbalance.
• Keepbladebelowwaistlevel.Itwill
beeasiertomaintaincontrolofunit.
• Donotraisetheengineaboveyour
waistasthebladecancomedanger-
ouslyclosetoyourbody.
• Donotswingtheunitwithsuchforce
thatyouareindangeroflosingyour
balance.
Bringtheenginetocuttingspeedbe-
foreenteringthematerialtobecut.
Ifthebladedoesnotturnwhenyou
squeezethethrottletrigger,makesure
thetubeisfullyinsertedintoengine.
Alwaysreleasethethrottletriggerand
allowenginetoreturntoidlespeed
whennotcutting.Thebladeshouldnot
turnwhiletheengineisrunningatidle.
Ifthebladeturnsatidle,donotuse
yourunit.RefertotheCarburetorad-
justmentsectionorcontactyourSears
ServiceCenter.
• Maintaingoodfirmfootingwhileus-
ingtheunit.Dothisbyplantingfeet
firmlyinacomfortableapartposition.
•Cutwhileswingingtheupperpartof
yourbodyfromrighttoleft.
•Asyoumoveforwardtothenext
areatocut,besuretomaintainyour
balance,andfooting.
